Yes, most family and children sessions take place on Saturday or Sunday mornings, afternoon, and in early evening. Weekends are popular. If you have weekday availability, we can probably get you in a lot sooner.

Short answer: All of them! Long Answer: We travel all over the City of Chicago and surrounding suburbs to photograph families, children, engagement sessions, weddings, and other events. We also travel to Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin as well. We are not limited to the Chicago area, if you would like us to photograph for you outside of the Chicago area please do not hesitate to contact us. A small travel fee may apply if you are outside of 30 miles form our 60626 location.

Minor cosmetic blemishes or scratches on a baby’s face or anyone’s face can happen, these can be easily taken care of during the post processing and editing of the photos so the session will not have to be rescheduled. However for larger items like black eyes the session should be rescheduled. Kids are kids these things happen, its okay. Since this may be the first time we shoot please mention visible moles or birthmarks that should not be removed, especially on babies and little children where it can be hard to distinguish.

Please by all means plan to include them. Pets are an important part of a family. The photos we take are a representation of you at this time particular time. We cannot act as pet wranglers, so the posing and wrangling of the pets will be up to you. The animals will be more comfortable and take better pictures as well if you handle them as opposed to a strange new person.

Please contact us as soon as reasonably possible to reschedule. We don’t want to put a sick adult or child thru a photo session, and someone who is sick will also photograph like they are sick. Photoshop does not have an “unsick” function/filter the person will still look sick even if they try not to. There will be sessions that are more time sensitive than others, and in the case of adults, if the session doesn’t need to be or can’t be canceled, please let us know ahead of time so we can best accommodate for the persons condition.

Our goal is always to give the client images that will make the client happy. By default, we will move the session to your home if the weather is not cooperating. However, if you had your heart set on outdoor photos we are more than happy to discuss rescheduling under certain inclement weather situations. More than likely we will contact you if we notice that the weather is looked drab and discuss options. One of the main issues to think about is that rescheduling is based on availability. This means that you could end up having your session moved to a further date.

You will get every edited image from your session or event. This is not every image that is take. We often take several images in order to get one or two deliverable images for a pose or setting. Your fee includes the photographer’s talent and expertise at selecting and editing images. Not to worry, we are very liberal with the amount of images that we deliver. We do not limit the number of photos that we will edit and deliver to our clients.

Every photography company owns the photos that are taken by that company. The print release that we provide gives the clients permission to use and print the photos for personal use. Many printers will not print the photos without this release.

Yes, please do. Please tag the TK Photography Facebook page ( in the photo or as part of the Facebook album and note in the album “Photos by: We specifically provide a set of images on the CD that you will receive that are optimized for internet use and emailing. The images will be in a folder called LowRes_WebReady. The images will be prepared at the proper resolution for viewing on a screen. The images will also be sized to properly be displayed as HD images on an HD TV or computer monitor.

Yes, we do. We accept Visa and MasterCard.

It varies based on the type of photo session you are requesting. For Family and children’s portrait sessions, payment is typically made when you book the session. For weddings and other events a retainer is required to book the event and reserve the date. Weddings and events are book on a first come first served basis. For weddings and other events Full Payment is to be made no later than 7 days before the start of the event.

Digital camera only. Some of our photographers have used film in the past and know their way around a darkroom pretty well. However, We will not use film as the primary medium for a shoot.

We will be shooting in color. Since we shoot all digital, any of the images can be converted into a black and white or sepia toned image. Some photos are best shown in black and white format, therefore you may get some images at our discretion in black and white. Again with our digital workflow any image we present to you can be converted to a black and white image. Please note that this is a process and it will take time for us to change the image, it is not as simple as a checkbox in our post processing software. Each image will have adjustments made so the image renders well in the black and white format.

Studio Policies

Select weekday morning and afternoon session are available on a limited basis. Saturday is considered prime time and book very quickly. Payment is required at the time that you schedule your session. Please do not to be late to your photo sessions. Many times we have other clients either before or after your scheduled time. Try to arrive 10 minutes early if you can so that you can get comfortable and we can start on time. If you are late to your session, we will do the best we can in the time that you have remaining. In some cases we may be able to extend your time for a fee.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express,and personal checks.

Session fees are non-refundable. We will make every effort to accommodate a client's desire to reschedule, or transfer to another client, for any reason. Because of the variety of sessions we do, each session type and circumstance will vary. There may be a fee associated with rescheduling. The best way to know your session's rescheduling/transfer policy is to contact us directly OR if you have signed a contract, consult the contract.

After the editing is completed, you will receive a link to your online gallery (zenfolio) and a second email with the zipfile to download your images. The Zenfolio gallery provides an affordable way for you to order prints through a professional label. We highly recommend ordering prints through this service but it is optional. The Zipfile of images will br provided via email from This will include a print release so that you may print and share as you wish. Each Zipfile will contact both High Resolution and Low Resolution files.

If you would like to purchase through the Zenfolio gallery and would like some guidance, we would love to schedule you for an in person consultation. This consultation requires a deposit of $100. The deposit is non-refundable but applied directly to your zenfolio order. Our image consultants will guide you through the process and help with questions and make suggestions. We ask that all of your order decisions are made during this review time. Because consultation appointments must be prepared for in advance by our
staff, 24 hours notice is requested to cancel or reschedule your review.

Photographers and studio space are booked by appointment only, 7 days a week. The studio office is open Tuesday through Thursday, 9am – 5pm. Friday’s from 9am – 4pm and Saturdays by appointment only. During this time we will be returning emails and phone calls.

Much of our communication is done through email. However, If you feel as thought you need a phone consultation to discuss options or questions please submit an inquiry through email. While we enjoy speaking with clients over the phone, We have limited availability to received unscheduled phone calls.
